Foggy double-panes, swollen sashes, and corroded rollers are the usual calls we get from Aromas homeowners. Call Norm Castellano and the crew at (855) 382-3257 for a free estimate.
Why Aromas Residents Choose Us for ES Windows Service
We have installed and serviced ES Windows sales & service products across the Central Coast for over a decade, from basic single-hung units to large sliding glass doors that open onto farmland views. Norm Castellano built his reputation the hard way: formal construction training at San Bernardino Valley College, then nearly twenty years on job sites doing framing, roofing, and full gut-and-rebuilds before he started running his own crew. He knows what a failed window seal does to a wall cavity because he has opened enough of them up.
Aromas homes are not off-the-shelf. Older ranch-style houses with original window openings, custom-built homes with oversized glass, agricultural buildings with odd rough openings. We measure, source, and install for each one. Because we are independent, we can tell you when a repair makes more sense than a replacement. That honesty is why homeowners in Aromas service area keep our number on their fridge.

Common ES Windows Construction Problems We Solve in Aromas
- Fogged dual-pane glass units. Seal failure is the top call we get. Aromas’ cool, wet winters and daily temperature swings put real stress on insulated glass units. Once the desiccant inside the spacer bar is saturated, no defogging trick will fix it. We order new IGUs with low-e coating and argon fill, matched to the existing frame.
- Cracked or degraded weatherstripping on sliding doors. ES Windows 1500 Series sliders take a beating from rural dust and winter rain. When the weatherstripping goes, you get drafts and water staining at the sill. We replace it with fresh bulb seal or fin seal, often saving the door.
- Sticking or difficult-to-operate sashes. Single-hung ES Windows 4000 Series units on older Aromas homes often bind. Rural dust accumulates in the tracks, and redwood or fir frames swell during fog season. We clean, lubricate, and adjust, or re-square the sash if the frame has settled.
- Corroded hardware near the valley floor. The fog belt in Aromas is not coastal salt air, but it is persistently damp. Screws, rollers, and locking mechanisms on ES Windows units corrode faster than homeowners expect. We carry replacement rollers, cam locks, and stainless fasteners.
- Wildfire-zone glass concerns. Homes in the wildland-urban interface need tempered or impact-rated glazing in certain locations. We assess whether your existing ES Windows units meet Monterey County fire-hardening requirements and recommend upgrades where they do not.
ES Windows Service in Aromas: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
Aromas is split between Monterey and San Benito counties. Carpenteria Road, for example, sits close enough to the county line that the same stretch of houses can fall under two different building departments. Before we pull a permit for any window replacement in Aromas, we confirm which county has jurisdiction over that specific parcel. This is not a formality. It determines which energy code applies, which inspection schedule we follow, and sometimes whether the project gets delayed by a week while paperwork moves between offices. We have done enough work in Aromas to check jurisdiction before we quote, not after. When you call us, we will ask for your address first and verify the county before we talk pricing. That step alone is worth more than any generic contractor promise.
ES Windows Models & Products We Service in Aromas
We service the full line of ES Windows residential products, including the 4000 Series Single-Hung, 1500 Series Sliding Glass Doors, 8000 Series Awning windows, and 2000 Series Casement windows. For repairs, we source OEM ES Windows parts when they are available because exact fit and finish matter on an existing window. When OEM parts are discontinued or backordered, we use high-quality aftermarket glass units, weatherstripping, and hardware, and we tell you which path we are taking and why. For full replacements, we work with you on glass packages, frame color, and hardware finish. Impact-rated ES Windows products are available for homes in wildfire zones.
We recently replaced a fogged ES Windows 4000 Series single-hung unit in a ranch-style home off Carpenteria Road. The homeowner had tried defogging, but the seal was gone. We ordered a new insulated glass unit with a low-e coating and argon fill, matched the existing trim, and had it installed in an afternoon. No more condensation between the panes.

AfterES Windows Service Pricing in Aromas
Window work in Aromas is priced by the job, not by the hour. A single retrofit window replacement is a different animal than a whole-house package with impact glass. Here is where our current pricing sits for the two sub-services most Aromas homeowners ask about.
| Service | Price Range |
|---|---|
| Window Replacement | $4,500 – $15,000 |
| Impact Window Installation | $8,000 – $25,000 |
What drives the cost? Number of openings, frame condition, whether we are doing a pocket retrofit or a full-frame tear-out, and whether the county requires tempered or impact-rated glass. Our free estimate includes a site walk, measurements, and a written line-item quote. Call (855) 382-3257 to schedule yours.

FAQs – ES Windows Construction in Aromas
Yes, most window replacements in Aromas require a building permit, and because Aromas straddles Monterey and San Benito counties, the permitting department depends on which side of the county line your property sits on. We verify jurisdiction before we quote and pull permits as part of the job. Call (855) 382-3257 if you want us to check your address.
Most ES Windows 1500 Series sliding doors that are hard to open have worn rollers, a dirty track, or a sagging panel. We can replace the rollers, clean and realign the track, and adjust the door in a single visit in most cases. Replacement is only necessary if the frame is rotted or the glass is compromised. Call us for an honest assessment.
Aromas’ foggy summers and wet winters cause three main problems: seal failure in dual-pane glass from temperature swings, swelling in wood-frame sashes from persistent moisture, and corrosion on hardware in the fog belt near the valley floor. These show up as fogged glass, sticking windows, and deteriorating rollers and locks.
Yes. Homes in Aromas’ wildland-urban interface zones benefit from impact-rated ES Windows products. Impact windows add a layer of protection against wind-blown embers and pressure changes during a fire event. We will check your specific county requirements before recommending a glass package. Call (855) 382-3257 to talk through your options.
Window replacement in Aromas typically runs $4,500 to $15,000 depending on the number of openings, glass package, and whether a full-frame retrofit is needed. Impact window installation runs $8,000 to $25,000. The best way to get an exact number is a free site walk and written quote. Call (855) 382-3257 to schedule one.
