Cambria Construction in Chino, CA | Toolbox Contractors
We install, repair, and replace Cambria quartz countertops throughout Chino, including the Preserve and older neighborhoods near downtown. We’re an independent Cambria installer, not a manufacturer-authorized fabricator, which means we answer to you and the slab, not a corporate program. If your Chino kitchen needs a new Cambria top, a seam repair, or an island rebuild, call us at (855) 382-3257 for a free estimate.
Why Chino Residents Choose Us for Cambria Service
Norm Castellano grew up in Muscoy, just north of San Bernardino, where half the houses on his street were mid-project and the rest needed to be. He came up through the construction technology program at San Bernardino Valley College and spent close to two decades on residential framing, roofing, and full kitchen rebuilds across the Inland Empire before starting Toolbox Contractors. These days he runs the crew, and he’s known for untangling jobs other contractors left behind.
That background matters when you’re paying for a Cambria slab. We’ve templated, cut, and installed Cambria across Chino’s tract-home kitchens and Preserve-area remodels long enough to know how each series behaves under a fab saw, a hot inland summer, and a family that actually uses its kitchen. We’re an independent Cambria installer, not tied to any showroom, so our recommendations lean toward what holds up in your house, not what’s easiest for a supplier to stock. Common Cambria Construction Problems We Solve in Chino
- Chip-outs on marble-look slabs like Cambria Ella. Thin-vein slabs chip at the edges when someone cuts them without a wet saw and a steady feed, especially on re-cuts done on site. In Chino’s older kitchens, we see this all the time where a previous installer tried to trim a top to fit a settled wall line instead of re-templating. We cut in the shop, not on the driveway.
- Seam separation at the sink or range. Preserve-area homes sit on slab-on-grade, and the summer attic heat in Chino works the cabinets enough to pull a perimeter top apart at the glue line. We see open seams right at the dishwasher or cooktop where the run is longest. The fix is proper seam placement and a flexible adhesive, not just more glue.
- Etching and dulling at sink cutouts. Chino’s municipal water runs hard. Mineral film builds up around the faucet and the dishwasher edge, and homeowners who scrub quartz with acidic cleaners make it worse. Quartz is tough, but it’s not stain-proof. We replace dulled pieces and show you what cleaners actually belong on a Cambria top.
- Island overhang failures. Big islands installed over undersized corbels or a plywood-only build-up crack at the cooktop or prep sink cutout after a few years of leaning and heavy use. We see this in Chino’s Preserve kitchens where the island doubles as a homework desk and a buffet. The repair is rebuilding the support, not patching the crack.
- Broken pieces from tear-out surprises. On Chino’s older parcels, buried agricultural water lines and old utility stubs can surface during demo and shift the cabinet run. That shift translates into a top that doesn’t sit flat. We template after demo and moisture checks, never from pre-demo measurements, so the slab fits what’s actually there.
Cambria Service in Chino: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
Chino’s construction market is split between two worlds, and that split shows up in your kitchen. Near downtown and along the former dairy corridors off the 60, homes from the 1950s through the 70s sit on original slab and framing. A few blocks south, the Preserve and College Park are master-planned production builds from the 1990s and 2000s, all slab-on-grade with modern framing. The difference matters for Cambria repair in Ontario and surrounding areas. In an older tract home off Riverside Drive, we tore out a bowed tile countertop and found the original cabinet run sitting on a slab that had settled unevenly toward an old exterior hose bib. We shimmed and re-squared the boxes, cut a Cambria Ella top with a double-eased edge, and set the undermount sink so the seam fell away from the dishwasher. The homeowner got a flat, tight top instead of a repeat of the original hump at the sink. That’s the story we repeat across Chino: template after demo, check the cabinets and slab for movement, and only then cut the slab.
Cambria Models & Products We Service in Chino
We work with the full Cambria line, but in Chino—and Cambria in Montclair nearby—we see a handful of series over and over. Cambria Ella, the marble-look white with soft grey veining, shows up constantly in Preserve remodels and downtown flips. Torquay, the fine-grained grey-taupe neutral, is a quiet favorite for bathrooms and laundry rooms. Brittanicca and Brittanicca Gold bring the bold gray-gold veining to larger kitchens, and the darker Salisbury and Blackwood series anchor the homes where someone wants a natural stone look without the maintenance. We source Cambria slabs through authorized distributors, then pair them with quality aftermarket undermount sinks and OEM-matched edge profiles. When a top is repairable, we repair it honestly. When a run has multiple failed pieces, we tell you a full replacement beats chasing cracks one by one.

FAQs – Cambria Construction in Chino
We can come close, but quartz cannot be color-matched by patch, and every slab run varies slightly in veining. If one piece of a run cracks, we replace that piece with a slab from the same series and do our best to position the veining so the transition isn’t jarring. Call (855) 382-3257 and we’ll tell you straight whether a patch will look right or a replacement makes more sense.
Preserve homes sit on slab-on-grade, and Cambria in Eastvale and Chino’s hot summers push heat into the attic, which works the cabinets enough to separate a perimeter top at the glue line. The seam usually opens at the sink or range because that’s where the run is longest. We fix it by re-seating the pieces with a flexible adhesive and checking the cabinet structure underneath, so it doesn’t just pull apart again next summer.
Cambria holds up better outdoors than most quartz because it’s non-porous and UV-stable, but Chino’s summer sun and Santa Ana dust mean you’ll clean it more often. We recommend a covered patio if possible, and we’ll cut for proper overhang clearance so thermal expansion doesn’t bind the top against a stucco wall. Call (855) 382-3257 for a look at your patio setup before you commit.
An overhang chip is usually repairable if the chip is shallow and the support underneath is still solid. We glue and polish the edge, then check the corbels and build-up to see why it chipped in the first place. If the support was undersized, we rebuild it before we fix the edge, or the chip comes back.
After, always. On Chino’s older parcels near downtown and the former dairy corridors, cabinets are often original and the slab has moved, so pre-demo measurements go out the window once tear-out starts. We demo first, check the boxes and the floor for level, then template against what’s actually there. The extra step costs a little time and saves a bad cut.
