Toto Construction in Ontario, CA | Toolbox Contractors
We’re an independent Toto service crew working throughout Ontario, and the short answer is this: we set, reset, rebuild, and install Toto toilets and Washlet systems across every ZIP in the city, from the 1950s tract homes near downtown to the newer infill along the 60. What makes our Toto work different here is that we’ve spent years pulling fixtures out of Ontario’s slab-on-grade houses and seeing exactly what the clay soil and hard water do to them. That’s the difference between a crew that just swaps parts and one that knows why the part failed in the first place. Call (855) 382-3257 and we’ll come look at what you’ve got.
Why Ontario Residents Choose Us for Toto Service
Norm Castellano runs Toolbox Contractors, and he grew up in the Muscoy area just northwest of San Bernardino, so he knows what Inland Empire water and soil do to plumbing fixtures. He went through the construction technology program at San Bernardino Valley College, then spent nearly two decades framing, roofing, and gutting kitchens across the IE before starting this crew. When a previous contractor leaves a mess, Norm’s usually the guy people call to untangle it. That’s the lens we bring to Toto work: we’re Toto sales & service specialists in the sense that we know the Drake, Ultramax, and Neorest lines from the closet flange up, but we’re contractors first. We’re not manufacturer-affiliated or authorized. We work for you, and we’ll tell you when a rebuild beats a replacement because we’ve done both hundreds of times. Tell me what you’ve got and I’ll tell you what it actually needs.

Common Toto Construction Problems We Solve in Ontario
Here’s what we see again and again on Toto fixtures across Ontario service area homes:
- Rocking and seeping at the base on slab homes. Ontario’s expansive clay soil heaves under slab-on-grade foundations, and the closet flange set in that slab moves with it. A Toto that sat dead level at install starts rocking and weeping at the base by the next dry cycle. This is a floor problem disguised as a toilet problem, and we re-set the flange before we set the new bowl.
- Weak flush and run-on from hard water scale. Inland Empire water is hard, and it scales up Toto fill valves, flush valves, and Washlet inlet screens within a couple of seasons. You get weak rim-jet flow, a toilet that keeps running, or a bidet nozzle that barely sprays. OEM Toto internals handle the mineral load better than aftermarket copies, which is why we stock them.
- Baked tank gaskets and failed flush-valve seals. Ontario summers routinely push past 100°F, and an unshaded bathroom turns into an oven. Porcelain, tank-to-bowl gaskets, and the rubber seals inside Toto tanks cook and crack. Owners describe it as phantom run-on or a tank that sweats and leaks at the bolts.
- Starved 1.28 gpf flush performance on older supply lines. The 1950s to 1970s tract homes across Ontario often still have undersized or sediment-laden supply lines. A Toto Drake’s 1.28 gpf flush works fine on paper but underperforms at the rim jets when the fill can’t keep up. We check the supply before we blame the toilet.
- Dead Neorest electronics boards and older flush valves. Neorest integrated toilets have electronics that don’t love Ontario’s heat and mineral water. Once the board goes on an older unit, honest replacement usually wins over chasing parts. We’ll tell you straight, because we’ve priced both.
Toto Service in Ontario: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
The thing nobody tells you about owning a Toto in Ontario is that your foundation is an active participant in whether your toilet works. In the older slab-on-grade tract neighborhoods around 91761 and 91762, the pairing of seismic risk with expansive clay means the slab-set closet flange is moving, heaving, and cracking in ways that a fixture on a raised foundation never sees. A worn wax ring is easy to replace. But when we pull a Toto in these neighborhoods and find the flange itself out of level, that’s the ground talking. We chip and re-set the flange true before the new bowl goes down, because if you skip that step, the new toilet rocks within a season and you’re paying for the same repair twice. This is a pattern we see neighborhood-wide, not a one-off. Rancho Cucamonga and Pomona have their own housing stock and their own soil profiles, but Ontario’s mid-century slab tracts combined with the warehouse-driven build-out along the 60 and 10 corridors make this a distinctly Ontario condition.
Toto Models & Products We Service in Ontario
We work on the full Toto line that shows up in Upland and Ontario homes: the two-piece Drake and Drake II, the one-piece Ultramax and Ultramax II, the Neorest integrated smart toilets, and the Washlet bidet seats in both S-series and C-series. Our parts approach is simple: OEM Toto fill valves, flush valves, and gaskets for anything inside the tank or behind the bowl, where the difference between Toto’s part and a knockoff actually matters. For supply lines and wax-free seals, we use quality aftermarket where Toto adds no clear value. We keep the most common Ontario failure parts stocked locally so we’re not waiting on a truck from a warehouse in another county.

AfterToto Service Pricing in Ontario
Toto repair in Chino and Ontario follows similar pricing. It depends on whether you’re repairing the fixture in place or folding it into a full bathroom remodel. Here’s what we quote across Ontario:
| Service | Price Range |
|---|---|
| Bathroom Remodel | $9,000 – $28,000 |
| Small Bathroom Remodel | $5,000 – $12,000 |
| Tub-to-Shower Conversion | $3,500 – $10,000 |
| Bathroom Vanity Installation | $800 – $3,000 |
A straight Toto repair, like a fill-valve swap or a wax-ring replacement, runs much lower than a full remodel. What drives cost is whether we’re also addressing the flange, the supply line, or the surrounding tile. Every estimate we give is free and line-itemed, and we walk you through what actually needs doing before anything starts. Call (855) 382-3257 for an exact number.

FAQs – Toto Construction in Ontario
Usually both, but the fault starts in the floor. Ontario’s slab-on-grade homes from the 1950s and 1960s sit on expansive clay that heaves the slab-set closet flange out of level. The Toto didn’t fail, the ground moved under it. We pull the bowl, re-set or replace the flange, and then rebuild the Toto so both sides of the problem are handled at once. Call (855) 382-3257 and we’ll come confirm what’s happening under yours.
Yes. Inland Empire water is mineral-heavy, and Toto fill and flush valves accumulate scale that causes weak flushes, run-on, and clogged Washlet inlet screens within a couple of seasons. We use OEM Toto internals for anything inside the tank because they last longer under Toto service in Montclair and Ontario water than aftermarket parts. A free inspection will tell you how much of yours is scale versus a true part failure.
It’s the central factor. The older slab-on-grade tracts in those ZIPs pair seismic movement with expansive clay, and the closet flange is the first plumbing component to show it. We’ve learned to check for slab and flange movement before we do any Toto work in those neighborhoods. If the flange is cracked or heaving, we fix that first, then set the fixture. Call (855) 382-3257 to schedule an inspection.
It depends on the era of your electrical panel and what’s already on the circuit your bathroom uses. Older Ontario tract homes often have limited circuits and heavier loads from the AC fighting 100°F summers. Some Washlets run fine on a shared 15-amp circuit, others need a dedicated feed, and we’ll tell you straight before you buy. We include that evaluation with any bathroom remodel estimate.
Toto’s 1.28 gpf fixtures meet California’s water efficiency standards, so any Drake or Ultramax we install during an Ontario remodel complies with state plumbing code. The larger issue is whether your existing supply line can deliver the pressure the 1.28 gpf flush needs. We check supply flow as part of the install, not after. Call (855) 382-3257 for a full assessment.
